Mountain High Running Camp is designed to give the high school distance runner the ultimate training experience. The camp is held in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina in the small mountain town of Mars Hill. Campers will run on some of the most beautiful trails with views in the eastern US. Mars Hill is located just below Mount Mitchell, the highest peak in the east.
The high mountains provide an ideal climate of temperate days and cool nights - an ideal training atmosphere for the dedicated distance runner.
Mountain High Running Camp is open to athletes of any ability level, from beginners to state champs. The only requirement is a desire to be the best that you can be.

WHAT? Mountain High Running Camp is one of the best high school cross country camps in the country, located in the best training spot in the east... the Blue Ridge Mountains!
Mountain High Running Camp is for middle and high schoolers of all abilities age 13-18, and features a staff of elite US, Kenyan and International runners along with internationally successful coaches.
WHERE? The camp is now hosted on the campus of Mars Hill College in Mars Hill, NC right in the middle of the grand Appalachian Mountains at an altitiude of 2500 feet. The area provides access to awesome trail runs ranging from 2,500ft in altitude to over 6,000 feet! These are some of the best trails in the US!
The Appalachian Mountains provides an abundance of excellent training trails with the best variety anywhere! Campers can expect scenic mountain trail with awesome panoramas of high mountains, rocky rivers and high elevation lakes. A camera is a must!
WHEN? Mountain High Running Camp has combined into one Super Week Session July 14-19. Our staff will inlcude a variety of internationally successful runners, including the Kenyans, elite Americans and Europeans.
HOW? At Mountain High Running Camp, runners will be housed in mostly modern air conditioned double occupancy dorms on the campus of Mars Hill College. The small campus atmosphere provides security and safety along with excellent food in served in the Mars Hill Dining Hall.
The campus also boast several athletic fields, an indoor pool, and a 1.5-mile running trail. Mars Hill is also home to an 18-hole Frizbee golf course while the Student Activity center features a snack bar, pool tables, ping pong and a big screen TV for movies and relaxing.
In addition to the three nutritious meals per day served buffet style in the elegant student cafeteria, our own elite runners will prepare unique worldly foods like Kenyan ugali and Ethiopian flat bread.
Athletes will enjoy easy morning runs and morning pool workouts. For afternoon runs, campers will be bused to pristine high mountain trails in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains.

WHAT ELSE? Runners will have the opportunity to ice tired legs in a chilly mountain stream, trade morning runs for deep water workouts. Camp opens with our fun Icebreaker Dance and closes with our Farewell Dance after the closing ceremony and skits. Every camper will get fitted for a FREE pair of Reebok running shoes on day one and with the magic of Reebok, will go home with a shiny new pair - just in time to start the school year. Don’t forget the Reebok technical T-shirt (this year’s color for the girls is Gernaium... what ever that is!) Campers also enjoy socials, movies, team building games and the popular Goofy Olympics.

WHEN? Mountain High Running Camp has two seperate five-day sessions: Session I, July 10-15, and. Session II, July 17-22. Both weeks features a variety of internationally successful runners, including the Kenyans, elite Americans and Europeans. It is possible for motivated runners to attend both weeks!
HOW? At Mountain High Running Camp, runners will be housed in the historic but modern standard double occupancy dorms of Virginia Intermont College. VIC, known internationally for its outstanding cullinary program, boasts the finest college cafeteria around, compared to the Olympic Training Center by the camp’s elite staff !
The Student Activity center features a snack bar, pool tables, ping pong and a big screen TV for movies and relaxing.
In addition to the three nutritious meals per day served buffet style in the elegant student cafteria, our own elite runners will prepare unique worldly foods like Kenyan ugali.
Athletes will enjoy easy morning runs and morning pool workouts. For afternoon runs, campers will be bused to both the pristine level training trails like the Virginia Creeper and the more challenging and scenic trails of the mountains. Get ready for the most memorable runs of your life! 

WHAT ELSE? Runners will have the opportunity to ice tired legs in a chilly mountain stream, trade morning runs for deep water workouts and relax in our two jacuzzi hot tubs.
Athletes will also receive Gleukos recovery drinks after every run, a FREE pair of Reebok running shoes and lots of other great stuff. Campers will also enjoy socials, movies, last night dance, hot tubs, games and Goofy Olympics and more
